PreSTARSkate is a transition program for skaters passed stage 2 of the CanSkate program to learn the basics of figure skating, while continuing to learn the stage 3-6 CanSkate skills.
Skaters will continue to develop their skills in Balance, Agility and Control while exploring the Starskate program. They will be introduced to a variety of foundation skills which will be built upon as they progress.
PreSTARSkate classes are 1 hour long, which includes 45 minutes of group lesson time with a coach and 15 minutes of independent practice time. The independent practice time allows skaters to learn how to practice effectively when they are not in a lesson. This is a necessary skill for when they move into the STARSkate program.
It is recommended that PreSTARSkaters skate 2-3 days/week.

NOTE: All skaters at Stage 5 and under MUST wear a CSA approved hockey helmet while on the ice.
