Come Skate with Us! Enjoy our Friendly & Fun Atmosphere!
STARSkate is a program for skaters passed stage 6 of the CanSkate program to learn how to figure skate. Skaters learn dance, skills, free skate, and interpretive skating. Skaters will be progressively tested and will have the opportunity to compete throughout the season. STARSkaters must skate a minimum of 2 days/week, although 3 days/week will lead to faster progress.
Our coaches use a team coaching format to coach our STARSkate program. This means that all skaters will be taught by all coaches in group and private lessons. This format allows for skaters to spend more time practicing under coach supervision, while keeping costs reasonable for families. Skaters that spend a greater amount of time working with coaches will develop better technique and progress more quickly.
Skaters will be assessed and tested throughout the year. As Skaters progress through the Star program, they will become increasingly more responsible for their progress through constructive practice.
Each STARSkater and their parents will meet with the Skating Director at the beginning of the season to set goals, plan for the season, and sign a contract. The contract includes an overview of financial costs to expect for the 2019-2020 season.
